Jewish studies

This term I learned about the Brit Milah the Baby naming Pidyon Haben and Shalom Zachar. I learned that these things are important because they are traditions and some are because of the Torah and some are not.

The baby naming is important because it is the baby getting named  the Brit Milah is important because it is the sign of the covenant between god and Abraham and all of Abraham’s descendants. The Pidyon Haben is only for the first born if the first born is a boy. It is important because it is forgiving god because of the golden calf. You have to pay the Cohen five silver coins. The shalom Zachar is when the Friday after a baby boy is born you have a  big meal it is tradition but if you don’t want to you don’t have to.

In Jewish studies we did family projects mine is here

click here for my family project

The two interesting facts i learned about my family are….

1. I learned that my family on my dad’s side is from Russia Austria and Poland

2. The second thing I learned is that my mom’s side is from Russia and Poland

If I did this again i would probably change the way that i made the slides it would be more orginaized
